Инсталирах си драйвера на ati ,но ми се струва ,че Х-а бачка
по-бавно(прозорците ми оставят следа по екрана докато ги
местя...).Ако някой знае как се конфигурира - нека помага.
Изпълнил съм само тази команда след инсталацията :
/usr/X11R6/bin/aticonfig --initial

Аз ползвам УБУНТУ 6.06, иначе при мен дривера работи без
никакъв проблем с изключения че не мога да си пусна 3д
скреенсервер. Ако случайно да знае как се пуска 3д-то на ати
карти да отговори моля.

sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install linux-restricted-modules-$(uname -r)
sudo apt-get install xorg-driver-fglrx
sudo aticonfig --initial
sudo aticonfig --overlay-type=Xv
но като напиша
$ glrxinfo
display: :0.0 screen: 0
..............
[fglrx] API ERROR: could not register entrypoint for

..............................
и така нататък.
Решавам този проблем по метода на грубата сила като изтеглям
http://www.ground-impact.com/libGL.so.1...
и го сменям в /usr/lib
В резултат трябва да стане
$ glrxinfo
display: :0.0 screen: 0

Ползвам VSLive .Днес си сложих /dev/shm в fstab ,но и на мен
не ми вървят скрийн сейвърите и филмите ми ги насича повече
от преди да инсталирам драйвера. Не пелзвам интернет от нас
затова утре ще пиша какво ми дава glxinfo.

Мисля ,че то беше.Дистрибуцията си беще с 2.6.16.18 , но без
сорс. Помня че прекомпилирах ,ама не съм сигурен дали свалих
по-ново или си намерих сорса за същото. Да го сменям ли? Ако
го сменям най-новото ли да свалям?

"There is a simple solution for the currect stable kernel
2.6.16:
Browse to your kernel directory (usually /usr/src/linux),
open up kernel/Makefile and locate the list of objects:
obj-y =
at the end of the list, add intermodule.o
Then, open your configuration file (or make
menuconfig/xconfig etc and save your current configuration
to a file), and add at the end:
CONFIG_OBSOLETE_INTERMODULE=y
Then clean the source (make clean), configure your kernel
(make menuconfig/xconfig etc) and load your configuration
file. Compile and you're done. To check this you can check
if you have an object file intermodule.o in the kernel/
directory.
The mem issue was fixed in fglrx 8.23. Just have to hope
they will remove the inter_module..() routines the next time
they issue a release and switch to symbol_put/get() instead.
The intermodule routines will be removed probably in the
next release.
If you get any agp symbol errors when trying to modprobe
fglrx simply compile your kernel with agpgart support
enabled or module. Then add in your xorg.conf:

and it should be fixed."

Пробвах да си конфигурирам 2.6.16 ядрото. Всичко си изпълних
както трябва ,ама не се получи. Сложих си ядро от Slackware
10.2 - 2.6.13 като използвах конфигурацията на старото и пак
без ефект. Почвам да се отчайвам вече. Още по лошо е , че
ползвам интернет само от работата и не мога да седна у нас и
да ползвам различно варианти , записвам си на дискетка какво
трябва да направя от бачкането, после у нас на същата
дискетка си запосвам какво ми казват командите и др....
Чудя се дали да не пробвам с това новото ядро - 2.6.17.

тия настройки за мишката, дето са изброени, всичките ли са
разкоментирани? Ако да, виж кои настроки са за тебе и
останалите ги коментирай, че така става голяма боза.
Също виж съдържанието на /var/log/Xorg.0.log или там който е
лог-а на X-a ти и виж къде дава грешки (редовете с (ЕЕ) са
тия с грешките). Mоже и нещо от рода на:
cat /var/log/Xorg.0.log |grep EE за по-кратко

Ще пробвам и така,но скоро няма да мога да пиша какво е
станало, защото заминавам на море и компютъра няма да е с
мен. Като се върна ще пиша. Пак много мерси за помоща.
