Здр'<img'>Проблема ми е следния,ползвам debian unstable,и след поредният #apt-get update && apt-get upgrade,лилото ми не пожела да бутне ;( Дава ми следното :

Пускам си boot:rescbf24 root=/dev/hda7 ,бутвам нормално пускам си #dpkg-reconfigure lilo,отварям си /etc/lilo.conf
ето го и него ако ще помогне!?!?Ама нищо не разбирам,защо?какво? му пречи да трагне ;(Лилото ми е инсталирано върху боотсектора /dev/hda7,за боот ползвам друг боотлоадер/XOSL/.Ако някой е имал подобен проблем help plss.

Аз ползвам буутлоудъра на ХР.

Не познавам XOSL за да ти дам конкретна помощ, но принципно не вярвам да има разлика... Що не погледнеш коментарите по тая тема. Аз лично намирам сходства...

Там пише и това:
"Съвсем просто! казано, нещата изглеждат така:
След старт/рестарт на компютъра, BIOS-а зарежда в паметта MBR на указания в BIOS хард диск (обикновено е първия, т.е. hda) и кода от MBR се изпълнява. Този код представлява стартовата част на някакъв boot-loader - било то lilo, grub, nt-loader или нещо друго. След стартирането му, той "пренасочва" към реалния boot-loader.
Например, както имаш XP на първия диск, при стартиране BIOS-а зарежда startup-кода от MBR на hda, а този стартиращ код зарежда ntldr, който от своя страна "подготвя нещата" и стартира системата.

Когато инсталираш Лило, по същия начин се инсталира startup-код, който пренасочва към Лило. Целия Лило не се събира в MBR ;-)

Така, че щом си указал hdb да е буутващ, значи началото на Лило е в MBR на втория диск (hdb).
Излиза, че трябва копираш MBR, а не BR на hdb5 и още по-малко - на fd0:
dd if=/dev/hdb of=някъде bs=512 count=1

Между другото, ако уажеш в  BIOS-a  да се зарежда от hdb (втория диск), тогава би трябвало да се зарежда директно Линукса.
И освен това, ако слагаш Линукс на отделен диск (който не ти е буутващ), по принцип няма значение къде инсталираш Лило. Имам предвид твоя случай - нищо да не се променя по XP-то и дяла му, че да може да се махне Линукса просто чрез формат на дяла му или целия диск (ако е отделен)."

По начина, по който си описал проблема не считам за необходимо да споменавам, че там където при мен пише hdb5, ти трябва да четеш hda7... '<img'>

Не мисля че имам съшият проблем!Никога не съм задавал hda да ми се прави bootable!T.e. debian-a не ми е пипал /dev/hda!!!Бутвам всичко без никакви проблеми предполагам че проблемат ми е в дебиана и в неговото лило,защото машината ми работеше без проблеми преди упдейта!MBR си ми е старият защото там ми е разположен указателя към XOSL,който от своя страна е на дедикейт партишан.Работи ми всичко winxp,dos!Просто когато XOSL предаде управлението на BS на /dev/hda7 нещо става и не бутва а остава на LI;(

Пусни си boot:rescbf24 root=/dev/hda7  и след това стартирай lilo -v. Lilo ще прочете lilo.conf и ще ти запише правилен boot sector.

това се оказа ключът за палатката'<img'>
Направо си боотна като пич,без да ми пипа MBR;)
Явно ключът е бил точно в BS на /dev/hda7'<img'>
