Привет на всички във форума.Преди да се обърна към вас , потърсих в този и други форуми но решение на проблема си не открих.Проблема ми е че не успявам да настроя монитора ми 17LG flatron f700b да работи на 1024х768х85.
Инсталирах си последната версия на драйверите от сайта на Nvidia ,коригирах след това xorg.conf както е указано навсякаде , но пак не мога да задам повече от 52hz честота. Редактирах в xorg.conf в секцията monitor  : horizontal sync и vertical sync като им зададох съответно стойности 30 - 90 |  50 - 150  но пак без никакъв успех.
xorgconfig и xorgsetup не помагат.
Дайте идея какво мога да направя.

това ти дава modeline

ръгни го някъде , например в монитор или скреен секцията

В която и screen-секция да добавя двата реда xorg.conf се скапва , единствено в monitor-секцията не се скапва но и не дава резултат.

Според производителя на този монитор:
- SCANNING FREQUENCIES: 30  -  70KHZ     (HORIZONTAL)  50-160HZ        
   (VERTICAL)  

А аз не виждам нищо такова в xorg.conf-a.
1. Копирай текущия conf файл: cp /etc/X11/xorg.conf /etc/X11/xorg.conf.org

2. Смени си настройките на:
HorizSync      30-70
VertRefresh      50-160

3. Разбира се след това го запиши.
4. Рестарт на Х - strl+alt+backspace;

Ако пак е същото положение - дай сигнал '<img'>

P.S. Хм зачетох се по-горе. Колегата е май прав - каква ти е видеокартата? Този драйвер който ползваш нещо куц ми се вижда...

Точно от това се опасявах - че използваш КДЕ '<img'> майтапя се, естествено . Най интересното е че аз имам същата конфигурация - slackware 12 geforce 7600 gs agp/ddr3 , само разликите са че аз използвам dropline gnome '<img'> и драйвери 171.05 ( нищо че официално ги няма  ':p'

Като копирам садържанието на твоя xorg.conf и го заменя с това в моя xorg.conf и след рестарт пак се резултата е :  no screen found.
Ако запиша точно грешката която ми дава ще ви улесня ли ?

няма да е зле да пратиш кода на грешката, а също така няма да е зле да отговориш на няколко тъпи въпроси ,които на пръв поглед нямат нищо общо с проблема - 1) pci-e или agp е картата , 2) поддръжката на тия двете шини включена в ядрото като какво си я задал - като модул  или е компилирана , 3)да не би да е включено ДРИ- от ядрото 4) драйвера    NVIDIA-Linux-едикаквоси-едикойси номер-pkg.run как си го инсталирал - щото той сам си пише по xorg.conf и си определя най добрия режим за видеокартата

P.S. Да не си пипал нещо по кернела след инсталирането на драйверите за видеокартата , че тогава ще ти излезне съобщението : error XXX : no screen found
преинсталирай драйвера от команден ред и  пак пробвай

Аз не съм с тази карта, но съм с NVIDIA. По принцип след като инсталирам линукса монитора ми е на 60 Хц, но след като инсталирам драйвера NVIDIA сичко си идва на мястото. Не ми показва 100 Хц но според мене си е точно толкова, понеже не забелязвам да трепти или нещо подобно. Имай го предвид.
Друго което се сещам  е че можеш да вдигнеш херците от самото NVIDIA-меню което се инсталира доколкото си спомням в К->System...

Така е в КДЕ-то това се нарича KRandRTray Screen Resize & Rotation или нещо подобно . По принцип и на мене в менюто ми излиза 52 или 53  Hz , а на OSD менюто на монитора ми показва 60 или 75 Хц . В Fropline Gnome го има същото нещо System -> Preferences -> Screen Resolution и там ми показва същото 50 или 52, 53  но това не му пречи да си работи пак на 60 или 75 Хц.
При инсталирането на драйвера за NVIDIA  се минава през поредица от въпроси като последния беше нещо от рода : Да ти запиша ли настойките в xorg.conf .......

Аз също променя честотата през Nvidia панела но не виждам видима разлика, след 2-3 часа вече ми парят очите.
