Изтеглих си оригиналните драйвъри от сайта на нвидия, но имам проблеми при инсталацията, най-вече с прекомпилирането на ядрото.Имате ли някакви съвети?

А потърси ли подобните теми във форума с търсачката?
Освен това смяташ ли, че трябва да гадаем за дистрото ти и това какво по-точно искаш да правиш с ядрото.....?
Така като си мисля, май не си сложил source файловете на ядрото...

Опааа, извинявам се - грешка от бързане.Дистро Убунту 5.10 с ядро серия 2.6.А относно сорсовете - ще пробвам да ги събера в отделна директория, не съм ги забравил.

Виж ТУКА е за УБУНТУ 5.10 как и какво се прави и пише в конзолката.
Става и със Синаптика  ;)

При нея е активиран TwinView който е оптималният вариант за използване на всички възможности на NVidia картите.
С тази конфигурация ще имаш 4 режима на работа (първата цифра е Монитора, а втората TV-то):
1.1024x768,1024x768
2.1024x768,Изключен
3.800x600,Изключен
4.640x480,Изключен

Можеш да ги конфигурираш, както ти си искаш в - Option "MetaModes".

След като сложиш конфигурацията която ти предлагам, когато крашне, копирай веднага лог файла /var/log/Xorg.0.log някъде и покажи него :).
В конфигурацията поправи само:
Примерен код
Option "TVStandard" "NTSC"

на
Примерен код
Option "TVStandard" "NTSC-M"

или най-добре на:
Примерен код
Option "TVStandard" "PAL-B"


А що се отнася до този лог който си постнал ....

Това би трябвало да ти отговори защо имаш проблем.

Освен това не си спомням да си споменавал и че работиш с 64bit - Linux 2.6.8.1 x86_64. ;)
