След като компилирах новия кернел ( пробвах и 2.4.4 и 3.5.5-rc) и се опитах да го буутна, получих тази грешка: ALERT! /dev/disk/by-uuid/5a86a3b5-3bb8-461c-b60f-0b89753d3b78 does not exist. Dropping to shell Това става само с новите компилирани от мен кернели ( стария 3.2 си работи). Опитах се да го компилирам наново с повече опций scsi i ata, но нямах късмет. Предполагам липсват модули, които съм пропуснал (доколкото виждам не зарежда ext4) Пробвах да добавя ext4dev to /etc/initramfs-tools/modules и да го ъпдейтна, но няма резултат. Пробвах да добавя и rootdelay= и да премахна UUID и да пиша само root=/dev/sda2 в гръб, но не работи отново. cat /proc/partitions major minor #blocks name

Провери съществува ли файла /boot/initrd.img-3.5.0-rc5 Наистина нещо липсва като начало в initramfs и евентуално в самото ядро. Прегледай глупостите който правих, докато се опитвах да компилирам ядро тук: http://dejuren.blogspot.ca/search?q=kernel - може нещо да ти просветне. Което ми напомня: какъв конфигурационен файл ползваш за компилацията? Предлагам ти да ползваш оргиналния от другите ти версии на ядро в който да махнеш нещата които не са ти нужни, в смисъл постепенно да махаш неща, да компилираш и да се върнеш стъпка назад, след като последната компилация не работи (дълъг и досаден процес за хора с много свободно време ИМО). И последно - ползвай си все така РРА ядрата, дори ако искаш може да свалиш и инсталираш ръчно последното v3.5-rc6 от тук: http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/ без да чакаш да се появи в ъпдейтите. Това със сигурност ще работи, а ако държиш твърдо на компилация - както казах ползвай готовата конфигурация и махни това което не ти трябва.
