@Agent_SMITH, не че нещо ама това е самият /var/log/nvidia-installer.log  @HarleyBG, ядрата над 2.6.16 работят само с най-новият драйвер на NVidia - 1.0-8756. Така, че ако искаш да ползваш новите ядра, просто си свали и компилирай 1.0-8756 версията на NVidia, защото версия 1.0-7167 няма да се компилира с новите ядра....

Сега имам проблем с честотата на монитора. 85 Хц е, а трябва да бъде 100. Пробвах с gtf. Въведох данните в xorg.conf. Нищо. Реших да сложа стария конфиг (в него е зададена честота е над 100 Хц при 1024 х 768 ). Пак нищо. Пускал съм тема за конфигурацията на новият драйвер, но накратко: към резолюциите трябва да прибавиш и честотата така (това е само пример): Modes "1024x768" "1024x600" "800x600" "768x576" "640x480" Modes "1024x768_100" "1024x600_100" "800x600_100" "768x576_100" "640x480_100" и т.н...... EDIT: В случая те съветвам да коментираш цялата секция "Modes" и да оставиш на драйвера да си избере възможностите сам... Не става. Най-напред зададох само 100Хц на 1024х768 и като се стартира Х зарежда по-ниска разделителна способност. После зададох честоти на целия ред с р. способности. Стартира се Х с 1024х768 на 75Хц. От КДЕ с десен бутин на десктопа не мога да избера друга разделителна способност. Коментирах реда както ти ми каза, но тогава си остава същото т.е. само 1024х768 на 75Хц

Това означава, че честотата не е точно 100Хц... За съжаление NVidia по подразбиране, вече не записват в лога валидизираните честоти, така че трябва да пуснеш Х с:

Не знам дали този драйвер подържа видеото ми (нали от НВидиа махнаха поддръжката на по-старите карти) GeForce2 32MB btw w xorg му зададох вертикалната да бъде от 100 до 120, но тогава ми я пусна на 85. Сигурни ли сте , че е невъзможно да се инсталира драйвер 7ххх ?

Последният драйвер на nVidia игнорира VertRefresh и използва EDID настройките на монитора. За да приеме твоите настройки, трябва да добавиш: Option "UseEdidFreqs" "FALSE"

Пак нищо не става. Можете ли да ми направите една услуга. Пейстнал съм ви съдържанието на файла. Може ли някой от вас да ми го редактира точно както смята, че трябва да бъде и да го пейстне като отговор. 2 дена се занимавам и нищо не става.

1. Картата ти "GeForce2 MX/MX 400" се поддържа от най-новият драйвер. 2. HorizSync и VertRefresh трябва да отговарят на спецификациите на монитора по документация, а не да ги променяш произволно (това разбира се е в случай, че искаш да имаш работещ монитор). 3. Очевидно само X Server поддържа 100Хц при 1024х768. За другите разделителни способности си постави необходимите честоти според лога от който си получил тези при 1024х768. Пак не става Като го ползвам този конфиг Х се стартира на 800х600@75 От КДЕ мога да избирам само 800х600@75 и 640х480@85

Това означава, че има причина затова и трябва да се види подробният лог. Би ли показал какво ти дава командата: при горният xorg.conf?
EDIT: Няма да е лошо да покажеш някъде и пълният лог на Х (този с logverbose 5) който се получава с горният xorg.conf...

Но този лог показва, че този режим липсва... Открих и грешка в конфигурацията на DisplaySize... Така, че опитай това: Коментирай Примерен код | Option "ModeValidation" "NoVesaModes" | и промениПримерен код | DisplaySize 345 259 | на Примерен код | DisplaySize 330 240 |
И отново покажи подробен лог....
EDIT: Всъщност очевидно, че Примерен код | (II) NVIDIA(0): "1024x768_100" : 1024 x 768 @ 99.7 Hz (from: X Server) | е получено при наличието на Section "Modes" и на UseModes "Modes[0]", така,че може да си ги върнеш в конфигурацията...

Все пак с каква конфигурация получи този: Примерен код | (II) NVIDIA(0): "1024x768_100" : 1024 x 768 @ 99.7 Hz (from: X Server) | ... Четеш ли ЛС?
