Мога ли да направя боотменюто на убунту първо да е Other OS - windows xp и после да са другите неща на убунту-то. И също така да го направя да изчаква 3 секунди а не 15 или там колкото беше.

може,всичко може-пробвал съм ubuntu което ще рече че сега не ми е пред очите но си спомням че си имаше графичен инструмент за целта.
някъде в менюто ще го намерите bootloader или нещо подобно(в "control panel-a"  )

С две думи за тези, които не разбират английски: В /boot/grub/menu.lst :
timeout    колкото_секунди_искаш
default     номер_на_title_във_файла ,
като броенето започва от нула.

ok .. моя грешка значи

Можеш да сложиш секцията за Windows преди тази за линукс - тогава Windows  ще ти е на първо място, секцията other os - между тях. Тогава default трябва да ти остане 0 (нула). Ако обаче направиш ъпгрейт на ядрото (поне при мен) редът се загубва и на първо място в менюто излиза опция за зареждане с новосваленото ядро.
