Аз съм с Ubuntu 6.06 и знам, че по принцип си върви един GAIM към него, но при опит да инсталирам по-нова версия нещо съм скапал и сега не иска да се инсталира нито старото нито знам как да кача и новото...искам да се сдобия с някоя от новите версии на GAIM, които помнят status-а, а не всеки път като влезна да съм online...terminal-ът ми показва следното :

Между другото имам чувството, че всичките други ICQ клиенти са дръвца - Licq те връща в ерата на графиката от преди 10 години и не те връзва автоматично при стартираране, kopete графично що годе бива ама само изскачат разни прозорци за по-сигурно запаметяване на паролата и й той не се връзва автоматично...набарах една много лекичка програма - alicq,но тя е още по-архаична и от licq и е вече прекалено лека и грозновата;

Доколкото виждам, имаш развалени зависимости между пакетите. Synaptic-ът успява понякога да ги поправи, ако не - apt-get -f install (без име на пакет), dpkg --configure -a.
Не знам дали gaim е най-добрият избор - аз основно него ползвам, но има някаква нестабилност при работа с кирилица - комуникацията gaim - gaim не винаги е възможна без промяна в настройките. На шльокавица връзката е безпроблемна. Приятели ми се оплакват, че често ги дропва, когато те са с друг клиент. В момента пробвам sim, но при предаване към gaim излизат таговете за форматиране, вместо само форматирания текст, независимо от настройката за изпращане (rtf, utf, plain).

Успях пак да си върна 1.5.1cvs, но сега има проблем при инсталацията на 2бета. Намерих една статия, която изглежда добре и въпреки, че е за Edgyeft, а не за Dapper drake мислих, че ще ми свърши работа - http://www.macewan.org/2006/10/19/howto-install-gaim200beta4-on-edgy/
Свалих този файл, разархивирах го и после написах ./configure в следствие, на което>
