Ми проблема е следния.
Като видях в официалната страница на Kubuntu,че е излязла официалната финална версия на Gutsy Gibbon Tribe веднага пуснах да си обновявам Feisty-то на Gutsy.
Следвах картинките от тук:

Обнови си се си се без проблем.
Пуснах restricted-manager-kde то ми исталира драйвера за видео картата(ATi Radeon 9550 Series)и аз много се зарадвах че е 8.37.
Обаче за всеки случай преди да почна инсталацията си си копирах xorg.conf в Домашната ми папка.
Драйвера си се инсталира.
Аз си нагодих настройките на монитора от Kcontrol на IBM 6547 G72(такъв ми е монитора),85 херца(толкова го бях нагодил и на Feisty и вървеше) и с голямо удоволствие рестартирах компютъра.
И тук ме чакаше голяма изненада.
След като се махна BootScreen-а аз очаквах да видя LoginScreen-а,а видях черен екран без нищо.
Рестартирах компа с (Ctrl+Alt+Del) и влязох в Recovery Mode.
Там написах:

Пак рестартирах и този път ми се появи LoginScreen-а.
Ок влязох в KDE-то си и почнах да се ровя навсякъде за да открия от къде идва въпросния бъг.
Най-накрая разбрах,че този драйвър е прекалено нов за моя монитор и го оставих както си е по подразбиране на 60 херца.
Обаче така ми бърка в здравето и затова реших да попитам тука:
Как да си наглася настройката на правилния монитор с този драйвър.

Ще си разплета чорапите от яд.

защо не потърсиш стария драйвър ? все някъде трябва да го има

Ми има го в хранилищата за Feisty ама да инсталирам драйвер за Feisty на Gutsy мисля,че няма да стане.

С драйвера за feisty не става.
Трябваше на пиша

там да сложа драйвъра на ati,после като влязох в GUI,трябваше пък да упгейдвам драйвъра:

да върна в xorg.conf драйвера на fglrx и
най-накрая един хубав

и всичко се върна както си беше,някакви други идеи?

е тия са ясни .run пакетите,ама аз търсех .deb но нищо.Ще го пробвам и тоя.
Още едно бърникане в xorg.conf няма да навреди.

Не може да се отвори файла „/home/home/ati-driver-in…ler-8.42.3-x86.x86_64.run“

По-същия начин става и с 8.42.
Може да се наложи да рестариш няколко пъти преди да build-неш .deb пакетите.
Сега ги инсталирам.
Ако стане ще пиша.
При мен не стана с .deb файловете на 8.40 и 8.42.
Според мен на по-старите монитори това Ubuntu дава само на 60Hz.
Утре ще пробвам и с 8.35 и 8.36,и на теб ли ти е същия монитор,или е просто стар,или пък е нов и дава бъгове(при нов не би трябвало да дава).

Уж ги инсталирах, ама нищо не става! Като цъкна на "настройки на външния вид" ми казва: "The Composite extension is not available"

Първи начин:
Теглиш пакетите от линковете във втори начин,инсталираш ги пак като съм описал в втори начин,но не рестартираш,редактираш xorg.conf с едно от тия двете команди:

Там променяш в секцията Device,driver от vesa  на fglrx и рестартираш.
И още нещо:Преди дори да почнеш да ги теглиш си направи бекъп на xorg.conf за всеки случай.
Така би трябвало да стане.
Ако нещо се обърка и дори с резервния xorg.conf не можеш да си влезеш в GUI,рестартираш влизаш в Recovery Mode,там пишеш:

Важно:и в двата линка и пакет kernel-source,който не е нужен на Ubuntu базирани системи(справка:Adept,Synaptic).
След като инсталираш правиш един хубав рестарт и влизаш в recovery mode и от там си нагласяш aticonfig
И още нещо:Преди дори да почнеш да ги теглиш си направи бекъп на xorg.conf за всеки случай.
Така би трябвало да стане.

Въй,аз съм биля сляп като смок.
Добре,че написа да си променя:

То като не мисля,няма и да се сетя какво трябва да направя.
Мали,колко съм тъп.

Вече е на 85 херца ама сега пък всички Xine базирани player-и показват черта по-средата вместо картината на клипа/филма(не е от херцовете-проверих),да имате идеи освен да компилирам xine-lib 1.1.8?
