Титла: Компилиране на пакети

Изтеглих си Avant Window Manager с рзширение tar.gz разкомпресирах го и прочетох: INSTALL Цитат | The simplest way to compile this package is:
1. `cd' to the directory containing the package's source code and type `./configure' to configure the package for your system. If you're using `csh' on an old version of System V, you might need to type `sh ./configure' instead to prevent `csh' from trying to execute `configure' itself.
Running `configure' takes awhile. While running, it prints some messages telling which features it is checking for.
2. Type `make' to compile the package.
3. Optionally, type `make check' to run any self-tests that come with the package.
4. Type `make install' to install the programs and any data files and documentation.
5. You can remove the program binaries and object files from the source code directory by typing `make clean'. To also remove the files that `configure' created (so you can compile the package for a different kind of computer), type `make distclean'. There is also a `make maintainer-clean' target, but that is intended mainly for the package's developers. If you use it, you may have to get all sorts of other programs in order to regenerate files that came with the distribution. |
Отварям конзолата влизам във вече разархивираната папка и пиша configure ама нищо не става. Не успях да разбера синтаксиса на тази команда. Инсталирал съм build-essential
Това също го мъчих:
Цитат | How to compile a program from source code
Make sure you have all the neccesary development tools (i.e. libraries, compilers, headers): gksudo apt-get install build-essential gksudo apt-get install linux-headers-`uname -r`
"uname -r" lists the current kernel you are using.
Extract your package (as detailed above) tar xvzf package.tar.gz
Commence the build (compiling) process: cd /path/to/extracted/package ./configure make make install
(Note - typing ./ before a filename tells unix to execute the file as an application.) [edit] Create an Ubuntu (Debian) package (.deb)
Install package tools: gksudo apt-get install checkinstall
Rebuild package using "checkinstall": cd /path/to/extracted/package ./configure make checkinstall
Keep the resulting ".deb" file for future use. It can be installed using: gksudo dpkg -i package.deb
Note: These are basic instructions that may not always work. Some packages require additional dependencies and optional parameters to be specified in order to build them successfully. |

Consider adjusting the PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable if you installed software in a non-standard prefix.
Alternatively, you may set the environment variables AWN_CFLAGS and AWN_LIBS to avoid the need to call pkg-config. See the pkg-config man page for more details.
