Здравейте колеги,
Голяма търсене и четене падна, а резолтат нулев.
Целта ми е следнтата на конфигурирам samba-та да играе роля като PDC на няколко windows xp-та.
Проблема по-точно е в създаването на ntconfig.pol, който да се разположи в netlogon-a, който при логване да ограничава потребителите. В момента разплогам с windows server 2003 и от group policy editor-a не виждам по какъв начин мога да направия такъв файл.
Търсих в нета poledit.exe без успех, с изключение на това че го намерих на немски.
Опитах и с W2KSP4_EN.EXE но преди инсталацията дава грешка "The version of Windows you have installed does not match the update you are trying to install." може би е за по-стара версия -2000
Темата изглежда молко про уиндоуска, но нама как просто.

Ще съм благодарен на всякакви насоки, мнения и изказвания ...

От сървис пак 4 май (или 3) на виндовс 2000 можеш да намериш това exe което ти трябва, екстрактваш пака и го ползваш. Ще потърся един линк, където беше обяснено.

Може и да бъркам, но ако си със Самба3 функционалното ниво до което можеш да докараш DC  е само NT/2000. Със Самба4 може и да го докараш до 2003 не съм го пробвал все още.А инструментчето, с което си генерирах pol  файла се казва poledit.exe (чичко Google го Намери ($2)).

 Currently Samba does not implement Microsoft's Active Directory Group Policy Objects, which is what allows you to control Windows Desktops from Active Directory. However, one of the first implementations of this functionality, Microsoft's System Policy Editor, still works quite well with Samba. This page will show you how to use the System Policy Editor, along with updated, custom policies to allow you to control Windows XP Clients when using Samba as a Primary Domain Controller.

 1. Download the following files from

 Policy Editor
 
 common.adm
 
 winnt.adm
 
 There are various other adm templates there that you can use, but for the time being this is all we are going to use.
 
 2. Now download custom.adm file from

 3. Find the file "poleidt.exe" and copy it to the 'C:Windows' directory (or equivalent)
   
 4. Find files with the extension "*.adm" and copy them to the C:Windowsinf directory (or equivalent)
   
 5. Run "poledit.exe"
 
 6. Once in poledit.exe go to the 'options' menu then choose 'policy template' and add all the *.adm files you have download.
 
 7. Go through all the options on both the user policies and the machine policies. Once your happy with the settings save the policy to \samba-pdc-server etlogon and call the file NTConfig.POL
 
 8. Then it's a simple matter of logging onto one of your XP machines and seeing if all the settings are working.

То до колкото виждам няма много написано  остава да видиш в кой сървис пак беше.
Edit: Погледни да не би да е това, че само него намирам при мен, не помня от кой комп съм работил :(

Наясно съм че самба в момета не може да играе роля на Active Directory, a само PDC.
когато имам възможност да експериментирам в опитана среда, ще пробвам и ще докладвам!

А сигурен ли си, че не може да играе роля на AD? Не съм конфигурирал самбата за такива нужди до сега обаче прегледах документацията на 4-ката:
