Имам странен проблем при Slackware 10 с видео nVIDIA GeForce4 Ti4200 with AGP 8X, монитор Philips 105E. Най-интересното е, че след инсталацията на Slack10 и на драйвера (NVIDIA-Linux-x86-1.0-6111-pkg1.run ) и настройките по xorg.conf всичко си беше OK, на другия ден всичко вече се промени:
1. В конзолата преди зареждане на KDE3.2 ми е поорязано отстрани (не се виждат първите няколко букви :) );

2. Зареждам KDE3.2 - тука всичко е наред, но при напускане на KDE-то (logout) - мониторът ми си сменя незнайно защо честотата над 85Hz (при 800x600 максимално допустима) и се изключва.

Имам някои опасения, ама са безпочвени!

Не давам много информация, но това е защото проблема за мен е доста странен! Ако някой може да помогне!

Наистина е странен, но би могъл да пуснеш /var/log/XFree86.0.log (незнам как се казва файла при xorg, но е нещо подобно) :)

X си върви много добре, иначе. Ей ти го, ама не вярвам да помогне! Тука до мен стигат слухове, че е от frame buffer-а на видео каратата, т.е. драйверите са оплескани, ама тъй като съм новобранец, НЕ РАЗБИРА :) !

Хорааааааааа, смях в залата, това което ми се случи преди малко не съм го вервал (както казва премиера)! Чудя се да се смея ли или да рева!!! Ама по-скоро ми е смешно, ухилил съм се като пача тука!

Познайте, винаги досега кабелът за изхода от видеокартата към TV-то(TV-OUT) ми е бил вкаран (за по-удобно) и не съм имал проблеми с това до СЕГА! Ама хак, не, не може така!

Реших за проба да го изкарам и рестартирах системата и ХОП всичко си дойде на място, няма рязане на букви, няма и сменяне на честота на монитора в конзолата!

Не знам, тия нови драйвери много умни станали бря :) ! Усещам че става и някаква обърквация с драйверите на Windows (което не мога да проумея как би станало), тъй като имам и Windows, пак с най-новите драйвери!

Реших и вие да се посмеете, чакам коментари!!!

Мда, действително нищо обезпокоително не се вижда в тоя лог. Само да попитам, това лога след като се сбъгяса работата ли е или преди това докато още си работи ок X-a?

А за фраймбуфера - действително има проблеми понякога, аз го ползвах навремето, но вече не. Ако ти е пуснат пробвай да го изключиш да видиш дали ще се оправи - на lilo/grub промпта му дай параметър "vga=normal". Ако тръгне така ще трябва да го оправиш в lilo/grub конфигурацията.
