Здравейте,

Опитвам се да пусна direct rendering на споменатата видеоплатка. Засега без успех.

Пробвах и с ati, и пряко с radeon драйвера. На доста места из Нета намирам хора, които са успели да го пуснат; на някои места виждам приложени xorg.conf файлове и Xorg логове. Опитах всички приложими при мен xorg.conf файлове, включително с всички модификации, които ми се сториха разумни - без резултат. В X.org лога direct rendering-а продължава да се рапортува като disabled.

Някой може ли да даде съвет какво може да съм пропуснал?

До колкото виждам от лога dri инфраструктурата е коректно инициализирана. Тоест намерило си е картата и пуска GLX софтуерен рендер.

Като генералени съвети:
 * ползвай драйверите на АТИ. Знам че са зле но са по бързи
 * Спри AIGLX
 * виж дали има нещо във /proc/mtrr

P.S. Комбинацията 3D ускорение, ATI proprietary driver, kernel 2.6.30, X.org 1.6.X засега май е невъзможна за стари карти.

Не само засега, ами и за вбъдеще, ати спряха поддръжката на всички карти, до HD2xxx както за уиндоус, така и за линукс. :)

малко офтопик
ама за сметка на това FX5200 на NV си работи без проблеми. AMD пак само проблеми(язак че изгоря NV-то ми)

Благодаря за съветите! Само че...

* Драйверите на АТИ са със затворен код, така че са извън обсъждане. (Всеки има право да е малко луд. :-) )
* Спрях AIGLX - същия ефект.
* /proc/mtrr - нищо, което да касае видеоплатката.

Някаква друга идея? Моята изобретателност започна да се изчерпва... :-(

Всъщност цялата Radeon HD серия вече е без поддръжка.

Какви поддръжки ви гонят... Има си отоврен драйвер дай изхода от

glxinfo | grep -i opengl
Виж как да инсталираш glxinfo, ако го нямаш.
