Здравейте,
имам един много дразнещ проблем със Slackware 12.
Машината на която върви е със сървърно двупроцесорно дъно SuperMicro, не знам точно кой модел, 2GB ram, 2x250GB SATA дискове, 2xGbit лан карти и един Quad core Xeon @2Ghz. Машината се ползва като рутер и файлов сървър за 10тина машини. Единия интерфейс е на гигабитов порт, другия е на 100мбитов.
През известен интервал от време (между 1 и 5-6 минути) ми се появяват някакви загуби по външния интерфейс (100мбитовия). Много неприятен проблем за мен докато работя на него, защото ми заспива ssh сесията през няколко минути за по няколко секунди, а и се отразява на нета на хората от офиса, макар че засега не са забелязали проблема.
Друг проблем, който предполагам че може да е свързан е, че ми бутва прекалено дълго време системата още в началото на "Loading Linux...................." Там стои около 2 минути, през което време индикатора на харддиска свети все едно наполовина, сякаш се опитва да разчете нещо...
kernel-а с който бутнах при инсталацията беше huge.s и всичко е инсталирано през tftp и после NFS ако това има някакво значение.
Kernela с който е слака в момента е 2.6.21.5-smp.
Сега тук ми пуснаха мухата, че може при по-сериозно зачитане на харддиска да се получава проблема и наистина един път уж успяхме да го предизвикаме с пускане на hdparm, но после пък не се получи отново.
Някой сблъсквал ли се е с подобен проблем?

Ако не се лъжа тук имаше подобна тема. За твоя проблем .. кажи какъв ти е SATA контролера, кои модули се зареждат...грешките които са ти в лога ...абе все важни неща. '<img'>  Погледни каква ти е мрежовата карта (кои модули са заредени).

Гледах може би всички логове и не открих нищо нередно по въпроса.
Чипсета и контролера са малко по-различни. Понеже нямам никаква документация по машината в мен, направо пускам цялото инфо от lspci:

А в dmesg имам това накрая. Тези последните линии са ми чудни защо се получават. Ползвам iptraf от време на време. Възможно ли е от него да идва?

lsmod ти изкарва списък с заредените модули

promiscuous mode - режим на мрежовата карта при който приема всички преминаващи пакети

Според мен май ще трябва да си правиш ядрото.

И аз усещам че към ново ядро отиват нещата, но лошото е, че тая машина е на доста труднодостъпно място, няма клавир и монитор и ако нещо се поцепи ще ми се постъжни...
Раид не съм ползвал умишлено, защото предполагах че ще създава ядове.

Малко късно се включвам в темата
За да си ускориш буут-ването, добави "compact" някъде отгоре в /etc/lilo.conf.
Съответно изпълни "lilo" после.
